Intrigue at efficiency & the 10 Minute Trainer claim
by Steve
I am perplexed and intrigued at Tony Horton’s 10 Minute Trainer…
It sounds too good to be true and we know that most of the time something does, that’s exactly what it is. At the same time, I try not to pre-judge without the data. And that is where much of the perplexing comes from.
When Dr. Oz said he was going to talk with Tony Horton about his new workout, the 10 minute workout, I hoped he would cast some light on the subject. Unfortunately, when the segment aired, everyone that he talked to about Tony Horton and results was clearly referring to P90X. I know that P90X can be successful. I know that P90X can lead to some remarkable changes. But that’s not a 10 minute workout!
My frustration with not being able to find a definitive statement about the effectiveness of 10 Minute Trainer comes from past understanding of how long it took to get one’s heart-rate into the beneficial training zone. This alone typically took the better part of 10 minutes. While “super stacking” seems to make sense, it feels right only when stacking multiple 10 minute workouts together.
My other concern is around exactly how Tony looked in this interview. If his size, or lack thereof, is an indicator of the 10 Minute Trainer results, then perhaps it’s not for me. From what I’ve read on the Internet, it seems like these perspectives are well founded, but still seems like it would be a valuable addition to a more complete regimen for those days when time is at a premium.
